I am a scholar-practitioner working at the intersection of technology, justice, and contemplative inquiry.
My work begins from a simple but demanding premise: organizational systems — especially AI-mediated ones — are moral and epistemic architectures, not merely technical tools. They shape who gets to decide, whose knowledge counts, and how responsibility is distributed.
I was trained in organizational behavior, but my scholarship has always moved across boundaries — integrating critical management studies, socio-technical systems theory, postcolonial perspectives, and contemplative traditions.
Over time, this led me to three converging commitments:
Justice-Centered Management
Management is not neutral coordination; it is a site of power, exclusion, and possibility.
Socio-Tech Innovation
Technologies embed institutional logics — and must be designed, governed, and contested accordingly.
Contemplative Methodology
Mindfulness and Advaitic inquiry are not wellness tools, but rigorous methods for cultivating ethical judgment, epistemic humility, and resilience in complex systems.
Practice as Theory
Alongside academic work, I co-founded and lead AI-driven health ventures operating at the intersection of science, regulation, and equity. This practice grounds my theory — keeping it accountable to real constraints, real risks, and real lives.
Institutional Home
I am Professor of Management & Socio-Tech Innovation at Parsons School of Design, The New School, where I also direct the undergraduate program in Management, Leadership, and Entrepreneurship.
